Search the Yalobusha County Court Docket

Yalobusha keeps two county seats. Coffeeville serves the first judicial district and Water Valley the second, with landmark courthouses in both towns and clerk offices to match. Confirm the district, then the court. The Circuit Clerk files felonies and larger civil suits for each side, the Chancery Clerk keeps divorces, estates, and land matters, and Justice Court hears tickets and small claims. Town citations from Coffeeville, Water Valley, or Oakland stay local. From there, a Yalobusha County court docket request needs a case number, or a full name and approximate year.

Yalobusha PAMEC Docket Access

PAMEC is not a free, anonymous Yalobusha County search box. Register as a Non-Attorney and accept the terms. Then pay the $10 annual registration or renewal fee. The official terms also charge $0.20 for each page a search returns. Even a no-match search hands back one billable page. Billing arrives quarterly. A read-only public account shows the rest. You can view docket sheets, notices, and non-restricted electronic documents in participating cases.

Keep the account gate in perspective. It does not put every Yalobusha court record online. Justice and Municipal Court cases have no countywide public search portal. Even when a docket is visible, a document can still be restricted. For electronic Circuit or Chancery access, the official PAMEC registration page is where you start.

What a Court Docket Shows

MEC speaks its own language: docket sheet, case information, notices, documents, events, and status flags. A docket is the chronological register of a case. It does not reproduce every filing. A document link can be restricted even when the docket header shows. Field names inside the authenticated system can differ from page to page. Confirm local labels there or with the clerk.

Case numberThe court’s unique identifier. No public Yalobusha format such as YYYY-CR-00000 was published.
Case headerCourt or district, filing date, case style, status, assigned judge, and type where available.
PartiesNames and roles such as plaintiff and defendant, petitioner and respondent, or State and defendant.
Docket entriesDated filings, notices, motions, orders, status events, and other recorded actions.
SettingsNotices and later entries that can identify a hearing, trial, or other court event.
DispositionFinal or later status such as judgment, dismissal, conviction order, appeal, closure, or expunction as applicable.

Yalobusha Court Docket Status Flags

Official Seventeenth Circuit MEC information lists status flags. They help you read a docket without guessing at outcomes. BOUND OVER means a matter moved past initial lower-court proceedings toward Circuit handling. Arraignment Pending, Plea Pending, and Trial Pending are status clues. They never substitute for the latest court notice. Municipal Court Appeal and Justice Court Appeal mark the lower-court appeal paths.

Docket sheet
The chronological register of case activity.
Capias Pending
A system status relating to court process; confirm its current meaning with the court.
SEALED / Sealed_Case
A flag that remote public access is restricted.
Nolle Pros Pending
A prosecution action not to proceed is pending; the latest entry controls.

These labels come from a state system's vocabulary. They are not legal advice, and they do not prove any outcome.

Which Courts Keep Dockets

Yalobusha County has two county seats. It also spans two judicial districts. The state directory lists no separate County Court here. So never route a record to a local County Court. That office does not exist. Court level and subject matter decide who holds the docket. The Circuit Clerk and Chancery Clerk are separate offices. Justice Court and the three municipal courts keep their own record paths.

Yalobusha Court Docket Districts

Two courthouses shape any docket request. The First Judicial District courthouse sits at 14400 Main Street in Coffeeville. The Second Judicial District courthouse is at 201 Blackmur Drive in Water Valley. For Circuit inquiries, the county's official numbers are listed by district. The First District number is 662-675-8187. The Second District number is 662-473-1341. Chancery answers at 662-675-2716 and 662-473-2091 for the same districts.

The county “How Do I?” page lists court contacts. It is not a live docket database. Call before you visit. Ask whether the office offers a public computer or a staff-assisted search. The local pages post no terminal room, terminal count, or copy cutoff.

The county hosts a Water Valley courthouse photograph that shows the Second District setting.

The Water Valley courthouse is a county court location. It is not the same counter as Water Valley City Hall's municipal-record office.

Finding Court Dates and Settings

Your citation, summons, notice of hearing, prior order, or newest signed court notice is your first stop. That is the best place to find a Yalobusha date. In a participating Circuit or Chancery case, the PAMEC docket shows later notices and settings. Still unclear? Call the clerk and ask which court administrator or judge's office controls the setting. The county publishes no daily case-calendar portal.

The Secretary of State posts judicial-term calendars. But a term is only a period when court sits; it does not promise your case will be heard on every listed day. A reset or continuance usually appears as a later event or order. Then a new setting follows. The Yalobusha County court calendar walks through the full court-date process.

The Mississippi judicial-directory page is the official entry point. It covers term calendars and current court listings.

Yalobusha Court Docket Since 2020

One local tech date stands out: September 28, 2020. The official Seventeenth Circuit MEC court-information page lists both Yalobusha Circuit Court locations as go-live sites. Both went live on that day. MEC is the electronic filing and case-management platform. PAMEC is its public viewing component for eligible cases and users.

That start date does not mean older Yalobusha court records vanished from view. The clerk may still hold paper files. Earlier material can be scanned or stored elsewhere. A docket search still benefits from a fallback chain: try PAMEC first for participating electronic matters, then ask the Circuit or Chancery Clerk, then pursue archival inquiry for truly historic records.

The Seventeenth Circuit MEC court-information page supplies the official local MEC context.

MEC is genuinely useful for the court types that take part. It is not, however, an all-courts Yalobusha County docket portal.

Yalobusha Traffic Docket Route

Traffic cases are common in Yalobusha County. They are the most common reason a statewide trial-court search comes back empty. Routing depends on who wrote the ticket. Highway Patrol and Yalobusha County Sheriff citations land in Justice Court, per the county's own court description. Water Valley, Coffeeville, and Oakland each handle their city traffic and ordinance cases in Municipal Court. An appeal from any lower court can later open a separate Circuit Court docket.

So read the issuing agency and court name printed on the citation. That quick check beats guessing from a mailing address or a city name. The city pages here list the public municipal contacts for each incorporated place. The county Courts page spells out the local routing.

Public Access to Dockets

Mississippi policy leans toward open public records, but court records take care. The judiciary is a separate branch, and court rules can govern inspection and copying. PAMEC offers remote access to eligible electronic Circuit and Chancery material, while clerks remain the local route for copies and lower-court records. Yalobusha County posts no local copy-fee schedule and no dedicated court-record request form.

Public also means limited in places. Youth Court, adoption, sealed, expunged, and protected-identifier material may be withheld. A case header can be public while the underlying document stays permission-limited. When a lawful public record is not online, send a specific written request to the office holding it and ask for the applicable procedure.

Key rules:

Mississippi Code Chapter 25, Article 61 states the public-records policy, subject to the judiciary’s separate rules and procedures.

Mississippi Code §43-21-255 governs confidentiality for Youth Court-related records and exceptions.

Mississippi Code §93-17-25 makes adoption proceedings and records confidential.

Yalobusha Restricted Case Records

A Yalobusha search that returns nothing does not mean the case is gone. Check the court first. The matter may sit in Justice or Municipal Court rather than Circuit or Chancery. It may predate local MEC use. Or it may involve Youth Court, adoption, expunction, or a sealed file. MEC status flags like SEALED, Sealed_Case, and EXPUNGED describe the system's own vocabulary. They are not an invitation to request a restricted file.

Youth Court sits at the Water Valley courthouse. It handles delinquency, children-in-need-of-supervision, abuse, and neglect matters. Its records are confidential. Mississippi Code §99-19-71 sets out procedures for certain expunction petitions. Sealing or expunction, though, is a court process. It belongs to the court that handled the case, never a simple request to remove a clerk's record.

The Clerk and Docket Records

Yalobusha County runs a split clerk system. Circuit Clerk Daryl Burney holds Circuit Court civil and criminal filings. Those include indictments, motions, judgments, and executions. Chancery Clerk Donald Gray keeps the family, estate, guardianship, adoption, equity, and land-related Chancery records. Justice Court has its own clerk, Jacqueline P. Spensor. Her office covers traffic, DUI, county-ordinance, small civil, and preliminary felony work.

When you request a copy, give the office the court, judicial district, case number, parties, filing year, and document name. Ask whether it needs a plain or certified copy. Confirm the fee and payment method before sending any money. The Circuit Clerk email is daryl.burney@yalobushacounty.net. The Chancery Clerk email is chanceryclerk@yalobushacounty.net, though the published pages do not promise email fulfillment. Yalobusha Appeals and Historic Dockets

An appeal from Municipal or Justice Court can create its own docket. That docket opens in Yalobusha County Circuit Court. Request the original lower-court record and the appeal from their separate custodians. Above Circuit and Chancery sits the Mississippi Court of Appeals, the state's intermediate appellate court. The Mississippi Supreme Court stands as the court of last resort. Not every local case becomes an appellate file, though.

History runs deep here too. Yalobusha's archival finding aids list bound Circuit appearance dockets from the nineteenth century. They also cover conviction and state dockets, Chancery fee and rule books, and Justice Court dockets. That long record history is a reminder. "Not online" may simply mean one thing. The route runs through a clerk, microfilm, or archive. Mississippi's Supreme Court agency page describes the state appellate role.

An appellate result is its own level of court record. It does not replace the original Yalobusha trial-court docket.

Court Dockets by City in Yalobusha County

The 2020 Census TIGER table lists three incorporated places. Each has its own city docket page here: Water Valley, Coffeeville, and Oakland. Each one keeps a Municipal Court for city traffic tickets, ordinance matters, and municipal misdemeanors. That is where the record starts. Appeal a case, and it moves on a separate track into Circuit Court. So the city pages below stay distinct from the two Yalobusha County courthouse locations. Those serve a different docket search.

Water Valley Court Docket

3,380 people in the 2020 Census table · municipal cases route through the city court, while county and state tickets can belong in Justice Court.

Coffeeville Court Docket

797 people in the 2020 Census table · the First Judicial District courthouse is in Coffeeville, but Municipal Court and county clerk records remain separate.

Oakland Court Docket

462 people in the 2020 Census table · city citation records begin with Oakland Municipal Court, with Justice and Circuit routes used only when the case calls for them.

Map and Directions to the Yalobusha County Courthouse in Coffeeville

Circuit and County Court civil and criminal filings, indictments, motions, judgments, and executions for the First Judicial District are kept at the Yalobusha County Courthouse, 14400 Main Street, Coffeeville, where the Circuit Clerk's office is Suite 1. Yalobusha's Second Judicial District keeps its own courthouse at 201 Blackmur Drive, Water Valley, MS 38965, with a separate Circuit Clerk office reached at 662-473-1341, so a Second District case routes there instead of Coffeeville.

No official county page publishes a records-room floor, public-terminal policy, security-screening procedure, or parking instructions for either courthouse, so call the Circuit Clerk before the trip to confirm access. Confirm the First or Second Judicial District on the case before travel, since a Second District file is handled from Water Valley rather than Coffeeville.
